BEMAC and World Wellness Group present “Constance on the Edge”
BEMAC and World Wellness Group have partnered to host a screening of award-winning documentary “Constance on the Edge” on Friday, 21 April at 6.30pm.
Filmed over 10 years, “Constance on the Edge” is the story of one refugee family’s resettlement in Australia, in the town of Wagga Wagga. It is a deeply honest portrayal of what it takes to build a new life as it follows Constance and her children’s navigation of a new, different culture to find their place in the community.
The film was a finalist for the Documentary Australia Foundation Award for Australian Documentary at the 2016 Sydney Film Festival, and will be shown at the Queensland Multicultural Centre (102 Main Street, Kangaroo Point) on Friday, 21 April at 6.30pm, as a special fundraiser hosted by the World Wellness Group. All proceeds go to their ‘Don’t Stand By’ campaign which will be launched on the night.
Tickets to the screening are $25 and includes finger food. Drinks can be purchased from the bar.
The World Wellness Group is a not-for-profit social enterprise that promotes health, wellness, equity, cultural diversity and traditional approaches to health and wellbeing.
