BRISBANE YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL

Following the success of the Brisbane Big Band Festival at the Brisbane Jazz Club over the past 8 years, complementing our engagement with the community. We found that at least 40% of the bands were from schools and colleges. We therefore decided to encourage these youth bands by creating their own festival.

We now welcome you to the first-ever Brisbane Youth Jazz Festival with 15 bands from the Brisbane area.

We are also delighted to welcome our specially invited Patrons Kristin Berardi, Shannon Marshall and James Sandon to mentor and critique the young jazz musicians who will take part. These well-known, highly talented and well-respected musicians are all world-class performers and educators who will give advice and encouragement to some of the jazz stars of the future.
