Hinglish Stand-Up Comedy Show
Random Entertainment, Australian Indian Radio and Brisbane Indian Times presents…
Hinglish Stand up comedy show featuring two of India’s best stand-up Comedians Kunal Kamra and Varun Thakur supported by Brisbane’s very own Sandeep Totlani Comedy
An advertising junkie by day and comedy man by night, Kunal Kamra has been leading a double life for close to five years now. The comedian once said in an interview, “On stage, I do not believe in drawing a line — that’s reserved for jokes that are unfunny,” a statement true to his style of comedy. His humour channels his unfiltered thoughts and his speeding
thinking process points towards the absurdities of life, making him produce one great set after another. The comedian started performing professionally in 2013, with his first ever show at the glorious blue Frog, Mumbai. The comedian is now a regular at the all the big comedy venues in India and globally, and has a dedicated fan following (despite him teasing them at this live shows with his witty barbs).
Varun Thakur is one of India’s premier stand-up acts, known for his high-energy mix of acting, observational humour and impersonations. Currently, his hour-long comedy special, ‘Vicky This Side, Varun That Side’ has sold out venues across the country and is streaming on
Amazon Prime. This is based on his hit social media avatar, ‘Struggling Actor Vicky Malhotra’. He is the co-founder of SnG Comedy, a popular comedy collective that has amassed 470000 subscribers and 61 million views. Their content consists of sketches, stand-up, and a candid interview-cum-chat series ‘The Big Question’ which has featured several popular guests. They also focus on Improv comedy and have done several shows around India and other parts of the world. He has also anchored TV shows for platforms like MTV,
MTV Indies, UTV Bindaas and HotStar, and has done corporate shows for Google, Mercedes, HDFC, Standard Chartered, Radio Mirchi and several others.
Sandeep. Totlani is a pizza eating competition winner and a trained dentist from India (because some stereotypes are good). Sandeep discovered Stand-up comedy by accident when he watched Russell Peters on YouTube and entered Australia’s prestigious RAW comedy competition. Since then he has performed comedy in 3 languages on some of the biggest stages across Australia and India alongside the likes of Danny Bhoy, Damien Power, Ivan Aristegueta, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, Atul Khatri and Daniel Fernandes just to name a few. In his set, Sandeep talks about everything ranging from mild topics like racism, obesity and abortion to major topics concerning the world like cricket, yoga and married at first sight. His funny observations and self-deprecating humour recently landed him to open for one of the biggest Indian stand-up comedian Zakir Khan on his maiden Australian tour.
