Men Don’t Cry / 45 Seconds
QAACA is proud to present Men Don’t Cry. A play interrogating the abuse of boys as a rarely told story. The African society expects boldness from men assuming that they cannot and should not cry as crying is a sign of weakness. Yet men too are vulnerable to a number of issues that affect their mental and psychological wellbeing.
As well as Men Don’t Cry, catch the film premier of 45 seconds. The African child is in turmoil fighting war on multiple fronts, escaping war and then forced to face another war while in refuge. Most sexual abuse stories go unreported and untold in Australia and 45 seconds is just one of those many voices out there fighting for a change. A short film by George Nyamuzinga, selected first time filmmaker.
