PWA celebrates Multicultural Month each year to promote cultural recognition and respect, to celebrate the diversity of our community, and to encourage the connection among people who might otherwise not have the opportunity to gather together and learn about each other. It is our aim at PWA to continue to work in partnership with local organisations and other cultural community groups as we plan to host more inclusive events for all women of all cultures to come together and celebrate occasions such as this.

This year we invite you to our celebrations and screening of ‘Pawa Meri’ (Powerful Women) – a six part documentary series (due to time constraints, we will only be showcasing three of the six) portraying the lives of six Papua New Guinean women who have achieved extraordinary things in life. These women come from diverse backgrounds and represent a variety of themes relevant to development not in PNG but throughout the Pacific.
