Public event – Maria Yousefi Painting Exhibition Launch, Time Place Memory
“Art is perhaps an effort to create an inspiring concept – the research and exploration of moods of nature, man, and objects.”
Maria was born and raised in Iran and is now based in Brisbane. She has been involved in art and art education for many years. She also participates in group and solo exhibitions in Iran and Australia.
“Born to a land with rich history and culture, but inharmonious conditions, is coupled with tensions for artists and intellectuals. Works of culture and art are inevitably the products of this land, characterised by complex dynamics”.
Maria’s painting are the constant marvel of searching and discovering the creation of movement within life. It is inspired by the dynamic images found through the life’s journey by using colours, shapes, lines and textures though.
This current exhibition refers to the concept of time. Humans do not live the same time in different geographies. And it’s the place of life that determines the quality of time.
After moving to Australia and living and observing different cultures and life styles Maria has created these art works to represent the feeling of time and place which are pivotal moments in human’s life and fortune.
Maria’s works are on display during September and October at Queensland Multicultural Centre.
