Stories of our Sisters
Stories of Our Sisters is the culmination of a six-month creative journey supporting fifteen young women from Logan to find, shape and share their voices through poetry.
This showcase brings the original works of seven of these young women to the stage — intimate reflections on daughterhood, identity and migration, beauty and belonging, silence and survival. These poems move between homes remembered and homes rebuilt, between inherited expectations and chosen selfhood. They speak to the complexities of growing up between cultures, navigating generational wounds, reclaiming the mirror, and learning to belong to oneself.
Tender, unflinching and deeply honest, this is an evening of stories carried in the body — stories of resilience, contradiction, rage, forgiveness and becoming.
This is not just a performance. It is testimony. It is inheritance. It is young women naming themselves on their own terms.
Content Warning: This performance includes honest reflections from young women of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Including reference to trauma, war, displacement, racism, gender-based violence, and intergenerational grief. These themes are shared through lived experience and artistic expression.
