Brisbane Ballet Presents CARMEN
It is around 1820 in Seville, Spain. Carmen enters the stage and sets her eyes on the soldier, Don José. He is taken with her charm and devilish sway. Carmen is unlike anyone in town, she prefers to live life on a knife’s edge. From this moment onwards, José is infatuated with her, but eventually she tears him apart and pushes him to a fateful end. As Carmen sings in the opera “Love is a rebellious bird that no one can tame…”.
