BEMAC Illuminate presents Heart Journey
Queensland Multicultural Centre is thrilled have artists displaying their artworks within our building. This month we welcome the amazing works in the “Heart Journey” exhibition by Queensland Guangxi Multicultural Communities.
During the monumental year of 2020, with the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, it seems to have hit the PAUSE button for cities around the world. But our lives do not stop, and people around the world are working together to defeat the pandemic.
Organised by QG Multicultural Communities, TT.L Visual Art Studio and Brisbane Chinese School, “Heart Journey” will be held in Brisbane in November 2020 at QMC. Artists of Australian-Chinese backgrounds, including both children and adults, have created works depicting their experiences and personal journeys living in both China, and their second home, Australia.
Another part of the exhibition also includes artworks that mirror the artists’ experiences of living with the COVID-19 restrictions and shutdowns. In addition to traditional oil, ink, watercolour and acrylic paintings, the exhibition also features artworks that incorporate healing properties, which is a highlight of this exhibition.
This is a FREE show and some of the artworks on display are FOR SALE.
